A Mosman laser welding machine for pillow plates is scheduled to be auctioned on 3 September 2026. This Mosman laser system was originally designed and built by Keppels Laser Welding.
The machine was manufactured by Keppels for Mosman Stainless Steel (later Solex Thermal Science) in Haaksbergen for the production of pillow plates and dimple jackets.
Following the bankruptcy of the company, the Mosman laser welding machine (MOSMAN 3kW Fiber Laser) will now be offered at auction.
Keppels Laser Welding can provide technical support, spare parts information and process know-how for this type of Mosman laser / Keppels laser system.

The original build pillow plate machine at Mosman 2015 is bought back at the auction by Keppels Laser Welding BV.
We are going to revise and make the machine run as new and improve the system with all new features.
Probably the pillow plate laser welding machine will be exported.
Keppels Laser Welding has successfully laser welded titanium pillow plates using our IPG fiber laser technology.
Titanium is a challenging material due to its high reactivity and specific welding requirements. With the precise control of our fiber laser systems and optimised process parameters, we achieved clean, high-quality welds suitable for demanding applications.
This successful test further expands the range of materials that can be processed on Keppels pillow plate laser welding machines, alongside stainless steel, copper and other special alloys.
